Novo-Pheniram is an antihistamine used to relieve allergy symptoms.

Dosage/Directions for Use

adults and children 12 years and over: Take 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours.

Ingredients

Each tablet contains: 4 mg of chlorpheniramine maleate.

Non-medicinal ingredients: alginic acid, D&C Yellow #10, dibasic calcium phosphate, FD&C Yellow #6, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and starch.

Sweetened with sodium cyclamate.

Storage

Store this product at room temperature.

Precautions

Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you have a history of heart disease, a stomach ulcer or blockage of the stomach or intestines, problems urinating, a seizure disorder, glaucoma, or lung disease.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to chlorpheniramine or if you are taking an MaO inhibitor (medicines such as phenelzine, tranylcypromine, moclobemide, or selegiline).

This medicine can cause drowsiness, so avoid driving or activities requiring alertness when the medicine affects you this way. If drowsiness is bothersome, reduce the number of tablets you are taking.

Do not use this medicine for a prolonged time unless told to do so by a doctor.

This medicine may interact with other medicines. If you are taking any other medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking Novo-Pheniram tablets.
